In 2023 a private company will send 8 lucky (or crazy?) people to Mars with no return ticket. 4 people are planned to go on the first trip to Mars to setup base (then realize they forgot their snuggie) and 4 more to land 2 years later (to bring the snuggie that someone forgot), these trips to Mars will take around 7 months to complete (I would finally be able watch all those movies I’ve been meaning to get through). The requirement for the applicants has so far just been to be 18+ years of age, healthy, and don’t worry if you aren’t a genius, no skills needed, just don’t be that guy who leaves his dishes in the sink for a week. Canadians pay $33 USD to apply, general information about yourself, a letter as to why you are crazy enough to do this want to go, and submit a 1 minute video answering questions and why you should be the first person to step on Mars. Oh and yes you can have sexy time there with the other colonists.
After the dust has cleared from the New York Times and Elon Musk dispute Kelley Blue Book has taken a shot at giving some more insight into the Tesla Model S by reviewing it while going from LA to Vegas with some … issues.
The cartoonist named the Oatmeal had an idea to to open a museum for the world renowned scientist Nikola Tesla. Such a great man and genius deserves his own museum especially after having invented things we could never live without today. Such as the remote control, alternating current, the induction motor and more. So Oatmeal’s idea has been put it up to an Indiegogo account for crowd sourced funding and was told by the state of New York that they will match the amount of $850,000 if they raise it and the internet does not disappointing. Who says Kickstarter.com has to be the only crowd source funded site that can raise a good amount of money. Well either way, they’ve already hit their target of $850,000 and I’m willing to bet this will hit $1 million no problem within the 39 days they have left. Of course Tesla Motors’ Elon Musk will be pitching in… or else that would be awkward…

With the Prius sales up (what else is new), I thought I would take a look to see if the Prius C has hit the interwebs yet, lo and behold! It is up and fully uploaded with pricing and all. For us Canucks it starts at $20,950 with plenty standard like your conventional audio selections from AM/FM/CD/AUX/USB, to bluetooth, power windows & locks. As well as some luxury such as automatic climate control and a 3.5″ LCD display to show how green you are and to show off how much money you save from sipping gas instead of guzzling it.
Some reviews to tempt yourself.
General reviews all saying:
- Looks cool
- Fantastic on gas
- Okay, quiet interior
- Not so fast but handles similar to others in same catagory
- Least expensive hybrid and best fuel economy in less than $21,000 (CAD) catagory

Honda shows off their electric motorcycle concept at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show called the RC-E electric sportsbike concept. Its got LED front headlights, sitting in a 250cc chassis. This just seems like a half ass attempt by Honda which is a leading motorcycle company to try out EVs although I do admire the battery that is hung on the bottom to greatly lower the centre of gravity for amazing handling. Hopefully next year they can show off some better fairings that don’t look like they pulled it off a bike from the 90s.

This Electric Ferrari called Millenio is designed by Marko Petrovic
Another awesome design from Yanko Design. With a super efficient vehicle it must come with carbon fibre and also is charged by solar panels or wireless inductive power systems.
